I would have said that one of Notion's strengths is that it isn't document oriented. In a spectrum of ways of conveying information I would put documents (Google Docs, Word) at one end and chat (Slack, Teams) at the other. Notion offers a more 'web-based' approach of modestly sized pages with easy navigation between them.
